There are some days where your BIble reading can feel like a walk through the desert. It’s not that the Word itself is lifeless, not at all! It’s just that sometimes we can get discouraged because we don’t read the Bible consistently or we feel like we’re not getting something from it. In case you’re feeling a little discouraged, Mark Altrogge has posted a few tips for Bible reading that could be helpful to you.
These are tips from Mark’s blog so check out his post for the details.
1. Prepare the night before
2. Pray
3. Same time, same place every day.
4. Keep track of what you read
5. Write in your Bible
6. Read consecutively
7. Use a journal
8. Respond to what you’ve read
One tip I’d have is to not do your Bible reading while lying on your bed - there’s a tendency to doze off, for me at least!
